My integrative approach incorporates the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural schools of thought which help to offer insight into difficulties which may arise from the past, your current situation or automatic thoughts and feelings that may not be beneficial within your life. Each theory is used independently, but complements the others so that as you pass through various stages within your counselling, a different approach can be utilised which may meet your needs more appropriately at each particular stage.
I am Accredited by the BACP and have an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, a Diploma in Supervision and a Certificate in Couple Counselling.
I also trained with Cruse Bereavement Care.
I have undertaken a specialised training in online counselling.
I provide face to face counselling for both individuals and couples from my private practice in Sidcup, Kent. The issues that I deal with vary, but include: bereavement, sexual abuse, self-harm, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and depression. I also offer supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors.
I also work as part of a team of counsellors at a College of Further and Higher Education, counselling the students.
I have experience of working for a GP practice and organisations who provide counselling for people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bereavement, loss and relationship problems.
I am a member of the UKRCP and an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) , and am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
To verify my qualifications and membership of the above, please feel free to telephone the BACP on 0870 443 5252.
